OK so with Christmas coming around I'm getting asked by friends and family what I want, and I'm always looking for new tv shows on dvd to watch and get hooked on, so does anyone have recommendations? I love shows such as Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, Gilmore Girls, Entourage, Sex and the City and Veronica Mars, most of which I own on DVD if not already in syndication.

Just to add, I just was recommended the show 'Life As We Know It' on DVD, and was wondering if anyone has seen it and knows if its good?

"House" is a great medical drama.. it's very intense but it's also funny sometimes. I don't recommend it if you're not comfortable with some extreme medical procedures though..
Check out "Prison Break" too, my sister likes the shows you listed and she never thought she'd like Prison Break but she did and now we're both hooked! It's exciting, thrilling and very fast paced.

An excellent choice would be Freaks and Geeks (very inexpensive on DVD) or Popular (unfortunately a bit pricey). Farscape is superb, but again a little pricey on DVD. House and Everwood are both fantastic shows and are both inexpensive on DVD. Roswell and Smallville are also reasonably priced.

Everybody Loves Raymond season 7 DVD or any other season 1-7 season 8,9 have not come out yet but i can't wait.

Well, if you like comedies, how about "Mad About You"? Or "Roseanne"? Or, because you like DVDs so much, why not have your family give you a gift certificate to your favorite store-like Best Buy or Circuit City or some place like that.

Arrested Development, another great cancellation.

Lost, it is an addictive show, once you watch you just can't stop. The plot is unexpected and grabbing. A great present for friends and family.

you like alot of the shows i like and i notice you didn't give "this life" a mention, i think this would be right up your street. also i read there is a new " reunion" show being shown this xmas, can't wait!
