Nitrous On A Diesel

nitrous works great in diesels, especially in conjunction with propane injection. Don't listen to anybody that says it doesn't. IT helps compress the air into the engine. Cold air condenses better which means more air and more fuel to mix. The show TRUCKS on spike tv did a special on it and it really was awesome to see the power increase from just propane to Nitrous and Propane.

It can work, there is nothing wrong with the chemistry that says that nitrous oxide (NO2) cannot work with diesel fuel, but...

consider that nitrous oxide is usually pressurized, in a tank, ok?

And consider that diesel engines are compression engines *already* running under much *much* higher compression ratios than their gasoline counterparts, even before a turbocharger is added to the mix to make things run under *more* pressure.

Soo...it can work. But will it? That is the thing, do you want to add even *more* pressure to an engine that is already running under quite a bit of pressure and possibly *is not* designed to take any more?

In plainer english: Do you want to run the higher risk of your engine going BOOOOM when you kick in the "boost"? As in blowing up? As in leaving you with a *wreck* and not a ride?

Just saying. :)

yes....but more commonly used is propane and on some pulling trucks/tractors even water injection is used....don't believe me talk to somebody that runs a pulling tractor

oklatom....you are correct a diesel does not create vacuum...but let me tell ya you put something into the intake charge that will significantly cool it down and your gonna make power...it's called thermo dynamics

Simple answer is no. As to why not, remember that a diesel engine creates no vacuum, and go from there.

yea, these people dont know what their talking about. check out bullydog, for that and if you want a real kick put a propane injection system with the nitrous.

certain. the biggest ingredient isn't to overindulge. choosing the most perfect kit for any given application is major; a sturdy rule of thumb to shop on with is under no circumstances exceed 50% skill strengthen on your modern engine output.
