To travel within Delhi, the best way is roughing it out (it is a bit too rough in India of course) - going by DTC buses, metro rail etc. I would not recommend 'rough it out' to ladies. All said and done, I am sorry to say that Delhi and generally North India are a few centuries away from decency towards others. But for this reason, you should not give a miss to some of the greatest spots in Delhi and around. For local sight seeing and to see nearby places like Agra, Haridwar and Badri Nath, by conducted travel, I would recommend Panikkar Travels. They are old, established and responsible people.

Avoid travel if possible during night & early morning if possible due to poor visiblity conditions as this month is generally full of mist & haze.
On a regular day private taxi or railways is best way to go. Buses are not that safe & very crowded at time too.
