Should the United States legalize Marijuana? and why do you feel they should or shouldnt?

Yes.
If it were legalized,

There would be fewer people in our overcrowded prisons

The use of antidepressants would plummet

Hemp is a stronger, more durable fiber than cotton and does NOT require as much pesticides or fertilizers

People would be more mellow in general (if you see people getting in a fight at a game or a bar, are they drunk or high? DRUNK!)

Legalization would bring in more tax revenue and free up Law Enforcement to go after actual criminals

and reasons go on and on.

If I had the choice between someone drunk driving my family and someone high driving them, I'd pick the high person every time.

Don't let the kneejerk conservatives cloud the issue.

Yes. It's a freaking plant. People spew about legislating morality, but how stupid is it to try and legislate nature?

Smoking marijuana is certainly not the brightest thing to do, but it is the fullness of idiocy to try and control what plants people can grow or smoke.

At least decriminalize it. Also prostitution, Gambling.....any victimless crime. Violent criminals are walking our streets while people who were on drugs, some as non-violent as marijuana, are in jail. My ex beat the crap out of me, threatened to kill my me, my family & friends & served 5 weeks for simple assault. What's wrong with this system?

i smoke but if they legalized it there would be a lot of money lost, cuz a lot of drug dealers money ends up goin to support the local pd, you really couldnt open a market for it and put taxes on it cuz ppl would just grow it themselves, but i think if youre settin at home smokin and mindin your own business the cops should leave you alone, which most the time they will, so it works for me

i think that they should under certain circumstances. Why?, Because studies have shown that when people in their early years that have smoked marijuana are less likely to get all timers then people who have not smoked marijuana

The US should consider the death penalty for drug use. It's the one totalitarian policy that China ever had that worked. Drug use dropped to zero, almost overnight.
