ok saw alot of people telling you what not to do but nobody really answered the question. try nipple stimulation either you or your husband roll your nipple between your fingers it is supposed to bring on contractions also sex is supposed to bring on labor. Another thing to try is go for a long walk this is supposed to help get the baby moving down into the birth canal.

The longer your baby stays in your belly the better chance it has to be born with fully developed lungs. The baby will come when it's ready. I'm not so sure that it would be safe for you to induce prior to 40 weeks since that's considered full term. I understand your uncomfortable and a little inpatient believe me I was there too but whats best for this baby is staying in that belly, unless the doctor has strongly advised you to begin trying to induce, theirs no reason for you to take matters into your own hands. I was also dilated 1 centimeter at 37 weeks, but the more I read about lung development in the fetus the best it was for my baby to stay put until she was ready. She came 2 weeks later, 5 days before her due date. Be patient but also be smart. Congratulations and hope all goes well!

The best choice is to just listen to your doctor. There is no way to induce and still be healthy yourself. You will end up only hurting yourself and your baby. I would let nature takes its course and just wait. That is the only safe way.

Please do not use any castor oil or enemas... all that can do is make you sick . I tried all sorts of things with my second daughter and ended up being induced @ 41 weeks.
I also tried eating spicy food--- all i got was a bad stomach ache. Just wait i know its hard but it will be worth it.

Don't try to induce labor by yourself--keep following docs advice and let them monitor you THEIR WAY. You want a healthy baby, and you want to be healthy also...that sometimes may be put in jeopardy if you take matters into your own hands.

Please listen to your doctor rather than getting advice from anonymous people who may not know what they're talking about.
