I have a 20 gallon tank, im planning on getting 2 more kuhli loaches( 4 in total then), i have a male betta in there, how many zebra danios can i also put in there? Just curious, i wanted a school of 6 or more, but not sure if the tank is big enough? or am i okay.

4 khulis a beta and a school of 6 danio is fine in terms of stocking capacity. However the danios will probably stress your betta with their incessant swimming and may nip his fins.

really don't think the combo of fish is a good one, but if it works for you, go ahead. To find out if there are too many fish in the tank, find out how big they get full grown. One inch of fish per gallon of water is what I recommend. So if you have a fish that will be 3 inches full grown, that fish will need 3 gallons of water to himself. also, take into account all the decorations and gravel in the tank. You're 20 gallon tank is really more like 17-18 gallons.

go for 6 and thats it.... i'm worried about the betta a litttle.. the danios are super fast and it's literally the the food out of the bettas mouth. you'll have to personally hand feed the beta.

For A school of fish You should have an odd # of fish. Two gallons Per fish.

6 fish in a 20g MIGHT be crowding.
