If you are interested in self-publishing and you don't want to spend any money, http://www.lulu.com is a POD (Publish On Demand) company.

You do all the set up of the book from start to finish, so you must take the time to get to know the technical side of setting up a piece for Lulu's requirements. They offer tutorials often.

Then you convert it to PDF and make it available online. They only print a copy once an order is made. You keep all the rights to your work and don't have to pay a dime. The catch is YOU must do ALL of the set up. It's work, but worth it if you want to see your work in print.

If you don't want to do that, and want to find a "traditional" publisher, you may want to look at a copy of "Poet's Market" - a book with a listing of 1800 updated markets for beginning and experienced poets. It will give you their contact information and query requirements.

And here is a site with warnings regarding poetry.com - it's a scam. http://windpub.com/literary.scams/ilp.htm

Good luck!

Get the current copy of Writer's Handbook and go from there. That is the standard bible of working writers both in prose and poetry. Web sites were you post for free are not going to do much for you. You want to be sending your stuff to people who are going to send you checks if they like it.
