Actually, the citric acid and sugar in 7-Up or Sprite (mixed with 2 to 3 parts of water) will help keep your Christmas tree staying fresh for a longer period of time. You might consider adding a drop of chlorine to help eliminate any build-up of scum that will normally accumulate in the water-well.
If your Christmas tree is in soil, adding any kind of soda to the area around the tree, will help enhance microbial activity. Sugar acts as a quick food source for beneficial (and non-beneficial) microbes. The downside to adding any sugars to soils is that you could encourage harmful fungi/bacteria to germinate and attack the roots of surrounding plants.
Hope this answers your question. GOOD LUCK!

No soda would never kill a natural x-tree, you'll need some kind of acid or spirits to kill it, but when the x-tree is artificial it doesn't need to be killed just dump it in the trash should do it..Merry X-mas!..☺

NO, but why would you want to put soda on your tree in the first place ? Sounds strange.

This surely relies upon on once you deliver it into the homestead to beautify. maximum bushes being bought have been decrease and wrapped a pair of week beforehand thank you giving, and trucked all the way down to the U. S. from Canada. they have been interior the chilly for some weeks and could stay somewhat sparkling till they get adorned and placed in a heat section. The tree has been severed from all existence helping capacity (roots) and is loss of life. decrease the backside of the stump and permit it to sit down down in water and save it in a tree stand so as that it's going to proceed to get water for in line with week or so. forget approximately all the aspirin and floral stuff to maintain it alive. Water is all it desires to help save the needles somewhat longer. attempt utilising lights fixtures that don't get too heat and turn the warmth down if conceivable interior the room that the tree would be in. attempt identifying on the tree it particularly is the main as much as date via pulling on the needles. some bushes are from the 1st slicing and that's maximum suitable to attempt to get one which became decrease in overdue november (2d slicing) and shipped here., i'd wait to deliver it interior the homestead till the few days beforehand Christmas to have it final till after New Years.

Actually the place we bought our tree last year said to add a little 7-up to help it live longer inside. I think it is the sugar.

If the tree is cut, it's dead already. Don't worry, just empty the soda and replace with water.
