Fine by me, let em' do it in the changing room from now on.
Oppositions try to ignore it, but that upsets them and they say it is disrespectful.
Maybe in their culture, but as guests it is they who are disrespectful.
To them it is cultural, to the opposition it is provocative, insulting and time-wasting. Oppositions have a right to a warm-up of their choosing.
They were hosted by Wales. They should have respected the decision, but they sulked.

The total fine was less that $20,000. Peanuts to the French Union -- a token punishment meant to reinforce the public pretense that the haka must be "respected". No more and no less. The players on the field (the Kiwis and the French) are professionals, and they know that this little pre-game show is exactly that -- a show. Any other factors which might (or might not) come with the haka are -- at best -- secondary. Behind closed doors I suspect that the IRB was ecstatic. The Haka is a valuable marketing tool, and the French response was perfect, creating exactly the type of TV drama which the networks love. I bet the value of TV rights to the 2015 World Cup instantly went up a couple of percentage points.

because the welsh had no idea how to overcome the all blacks so they decided to to dis allow the haka to take the spotlight away from their inability to play rugby.

Surprised they still wanted to do it. We were in NZ last year for the Lions tour and everytime they did at the tests it was drowned out by chants of "Lions!" Why should they get to give themselves a psychological advantage before every game. Its a good spectical but don't forget it is only allowed by the grace of the host nation, the IRB have never given it official status!
