Worldwide, some bloggers have wound up being the prime source for some major news stories, and, of course, a number of pro reporters have their own blogs as well. Is there a line being crossed or does the media need to broaden its parameters to include "citizen journalists"?

no, they are not "professional" they are still "ameturs" and while that divide exists they won't be anything other.

Only if said blogger holds to the same standard of Journalistic Ethics as other journalists, that said I don't think the 4th estate is that good of shape these days anyway, too much sensationalism, too much celebrity, and not enough news that matters to our daily lives

As with everyone else in this upside-down society, "professional" only means that someone got a job because he went four years without a job. If you don't pay people to go to college, they aren't worth anything. The 6th Grade grammar of these people proves that the way they got their jobs is not valid. So, both the media and the bloggers are amateurs. The professionals are ambitious imbeciles whose Daddies bought them jobs that are owed to people with talent instead.

More! A journalist within an organisation can only go so far for fear that his topic subject will cut him/her out of the loop. If a reporter can't get his questions answered, then the reporter isn't going to be much use to his/her paper/tv station. It's really quite stupid when I think about it.When a reporter is looking for answers on government issues, who do they ask? Someone in government.Does anyone see the falacy in that?
