This depends on who you ask.
Most choose to believe that there is something more than earth, becuase that way they can feel secure that when they leave this life, there's something else waiting for them. There's also thsoe that belive in it because one of their loved ones, not themselves, is going to leave them. they like to believe there is something beyond this.
if you ask a scientist or an atheist, they will say no, becuase it cannot be proven. To me, I'd like to believe that there is, but thats a hope that is wasted, becuase there is no true answer to this.
