My price range is under 350$ so these are one of highest end ones i found on that website...

I saw Intel Core Duo 2 is
1. cheaper
2. and has higher 4MB Cache Retail versus AMDs 2MB
3. and has higher

but AMD usually wins tests that i see (at least until recently cause i guess the Core Duo 2's are newer than AMDs am2 processors, hence they should be faster?)

here is example of CPUs i am looking at:

Core 2 Duo hands down. It is much more powerful and can be overclocked safer. The Core 2 Duo chips are cheaper and beat AMD's most powerful chip. AMD's most powerful chip is over $800. The E6600 Core 2 Duo beats AMD's chip in benchmarks and is less than half the price.

If you go to www.tomshardware.com and take a gander at the right hand side of the screen, you'll see "VGA charts...CPU charts....Hard drive charts..." ect. You can go there and select different benchmarks and see how nearly every modern cpu performs agains nearly every other modern cpu.
