It's a golfing term.

"There is a force in the universe that makes things happen...and all you have to do is get in touch with it. Stop thinking...let things happen...and Be the Ball."
Ty Webb (Chevy Chase), Caddyshack
Ty Webb: Just be the ball, be the ball, be the ball. You're not being the ball Danny.
Danny Noonan: It's hard when you're talking like that.

The sports psychologist's have been coaching golfers on mental techniques such as relaxation, visualization, and swing cues for years and have been stressing that the sport is 90% mental. Be The Ball is a 40-minute compilation of these techniques in an easy to use format. Benefits realized from the tape include learning to relax and focus before each shot, freeing your mind from last second adjustments, being able to swing freely with confidence and utilizing a simple way to determine the speed of a putt.

As others have mentioned, it s zen/mental advice that comes from the comedy movie Caddyshack. The gist of its meaning is: when lining up a difficult golf shot, don t think of yourself as the guy with the club who has to maneuver it to whack the ball -- think of yourself as the ball, and how you have to get to your desired destination.
(That s not 100% on, but it s pretty close.)
The idea is that this shift in perspective will help free up your mind from all sorts of self-imposed barriers-to-success, and allow the "energy" of the move to "just flow through you".
It can be a very powerful tool, if practiced well. Many coaches offer very similar training.
While "be the ball" is from golf, the basic principles apply to almost any activity. Hence, you might hear a conversation that goes like this:
A: I don t think I can sew this hem straight.
B: "Be the ball, Danny!"
A: Ah, right. Well, perhaps I ll be the needle...

It comes from the movie Caddyshack. Chevy Chase was trying to give a young caddy some zen golf advice. It's a joke.

"If you feel as crazy I am, you'll do just fine." LOL! or something like that. I don't know really but perhaps there is some kind of principal behind it, but we only say the conclusion that there was at the end.
