Ok, I have a friend that is getting married in a month...we don't really hang out as much anymore but I still consider her a friend. I am going to be in her wedding and I am paying for her honeymoon hotel room and all of that. Her birthday was about a month ago and I was unable to make it because I had to watch my Nephew. She is not responding to any of my messages. So do you think that she has a right to be mad over something so small that I couldn't help? Or am I just a s.h.i.t.t.y. friend?

btw: I wrote her a text and a myspace message that said that I wanted to take her out to a bday lunch/dinner for her to let me know if and when she wanted to. she never wrote me.
(I wrote her because I was at work and I couldn't call)

I think that you sound like a very generous and caring friend. I dont know any of my friends that would pay for my honeymoon! She sounds like she is being extremely greedy and self centered. If she cant understand that you had an obligation to watch your nephew then she obviously hasnt figured out yet that the world does not revolve around her. You are not a s.h.i.t.t.y. friend. You are quite the opposite, we should all be so lucky to have friends like you.

She probably just didn't understand that you couldn't get out of babysitting you nephew. Call her up and tell her or meet her somewhere for lunch. And you are so not a bad friend/

You are a good friend. If she want to act childish and not speak to you because of that, let her. At least you did try to explain and you didn't stand her up. You just continue to be a good friend and if she don't come around, don't worry about it. She will realize that it is hard to find a true friend these days.

No I think that you are a good friend . She should understand that the world doesn't revolve around her. I think you should be the one questioning if she is worth having as a friend.

she has no right to be mad, but you have to make sure that she knows the reason why you could not attend.
