How about Avani? It means "earth" in Hindi. That is what I am planning on naming my baby if the next one is a girl.

I like Avani too! I'm of the Native American Indian kind, so my names won't help. I was just looking up baby names online, too. Just type in "baby names" in the web search. Those mentioned before sound good too, especially the world one. Good luck and congratulations to your cousin! Wish it were me! (smile)

I like Zaira too....my friend is from Somalia and her's is spelled "Zahra", and spoken like Sarah.

Hey...there you go..."Zaira Avani". What do you think?

I grew up with a friend who was Indian, and her name was Dipti...probably the worst name I have ever come across in my life though. I'm sure it's normal in India, but growing up in Canada, my friend hated her name.

I think her mom's name was Samara.

I have a great one, it's my friend's name. She's Indian:
"Zaira"
It's pronounced like Sarah, only with a "Z" instead of the letter S.

Make sure its something that doesn't rhyme with snacks, drinks, or other fluids. Also keep it application ready. Something that is nice to the eyes and easily pronounce to ignore mispronunciation that may embarrass "him or Her"
