I enjoy a series that has clues and hints in one book as to what might happen in a later book. There are a few that spring to mind as good examples: The Harry Potter books, and the Series of Unfortunate Events. In each of these, every new book in the series seems to answer one batch of questions and leave you with a whole load of clues and red herrings to ponder whilst waiting for the next one.
Sadly, one of these series is now finished, and the other has just one more book to go. Fortunately, though, I've discovered a new series of books that is full of hidden cryptic clues: "The Tartan of Thyme" series, starting with "Justin Thyme". I can't wait for the next one!

Fantasy books!!! I'm not especially fond of LONG series though, because they tend to get boring...Only Harry Potter really seems to get it right becasue there are so many twists!
