Well Donna as editor of "what Christmas decorations magazine" I feel I am in a perfect position to answer this.
I get asked this question time and time again from readers, and my reply is always the same ... put them up, as soon as you think your blu tak will keep up your cheap Chinese tinsel and streamers until Jan 3rd.
This will depend upon the age of the blu tak you are using. If its the old stuff from last year which you just threw in your decoration tin, which is an old Quality street tin, I recommend putting them up on Dec 14th, earlier than this and I am afraid you will spend half of Xmas on a chair sticking the buggers back up.
I hope this helps
Will you do this for me lovey? keep in touch
I love yooooooooou.

Well, Donna, I'm glad you're thinking about Christmas this early. It just so happens that I put mine up last evening. It's only three feet high but ... size doesn't make any difference because Jesus wasn't as tall as most Christmas trees. Anyway, this will be my first Christmas without my loving wife, Carol. She died in April of lung cancer. We always put this little tree up together the night after Thanksgiving, only this year I put up an extra 'love ornament.' Take care of your health! This should be your top priority. Have a great Christmas. Here's wishing you alot of snow and comfort!

A week before Christmas Day. In my opinion, this makes them seem more special.
If you put them up much earlier, you could find yourself suffering from Christmas fatigue.
Be firm. Don't give in to the nagging.

We always put ours up 2 weeks before Christmas, and on a Sunday, so the nearest date by my diary will be on Sunday 10th December.

We usually put ours up the week before Christmas but we have no kids, guess if you have kiddies they just get so excited and want you to put the decorations up, go on, there little faces will be a picture.

well we always start putting them up slowly on black friday.. we take it a step at a time and do a little each day so it's not rushed or too much of a big job, so maybe you should start with the little things now so people stop nagging you.

I don't think it's that soon but I put mine up 12 days before Xmas. If you are already under pressure to put them up at the very beginning of December it will just get earlier and earlier. so I would stick to your guns on this one.

I was brought up with the 24th December, but as an adult I've compromised to mid-December. I don't like it when places take them down on January 2nd, rather than keep the tradition of 12th Night.
