I had also myself been trying to conceive for a long time almost 3 years and nothing...I was soo stressed out and emotional because i just didn't see why i couldn't have a baby! I went to my Dr. for a routine pap test and when the results came in she called, I was refereed to another Dr. because of an abnormal pap reading...pcos poly cystic ovarian syndrome (hint was why i was having a hard time getting pregnant!) I have stopped trying to conceive and have been told that when I am ACTIVELY trying to conceive i will need to be put on hormone treatment to ensure that when i do get pregnant that i wont lose the baby my hormones level in my body is not enough to sustain the pregnancy past tree months with the hormone therapy I have a better chance of getting pregnant! OK I'm sure that your wondering why i went on and on about myself but basically my point is that women need to make sure that they have there pap tests done regularly to ensure that everything is OK there are many many reasons that that is important and especially if you want to get pregnant best of luck and just be there for your sister and be her rock cause it is hard physically and definitely mentally so just be strong and tell her don't give up!

Firstly the more stressed your sister gets the less chance she will have getting pregnant. Both people need to be relaxed and not put so much pressure on themselves that they have to make a baby NOW. If there is still no change then they need to both get checked out at the docs. Maybe one of them has problem that needs to be sorted out. Either way at least by being checked over by a doctor, if there is a problem, they can deal with it faster and find the right solution. There are always alternatives such as adoption too if all else fails.

Remember the average couple takes about 8 months to get pregnant, and after coming off birth control pills it may take a couple of months to fully remove the hormones from your body.

It took my husband and I a year and a half to conceive. I was very good at tracking my cycle and knew when I was ovulating so that we were timing sex well.

It's hard to relax and not worry about it but worrying and stressing really does make it take longer. Until you've been trying a year there isn't anything to even consider worrying about. Each cycle you only have a 25% chance of conceiving if you have sex the right days.

After my daughter I waited 7 years for my next child who is now 5 months old.it was so frustrated every month I hoped may be I am pregnant this month. Then I got my blood tested and found I had thyroid Well when it was normal I conceived .And i can understand the stress your sister is going through ,just tell her not to think about it that much and try to divert your mind somewhere else.I am sure she will be blessed with a child someday.

I found that knowing why I wasn't getting pregnant made each month a little easier to deal with. If she has been trying for a year, advise that she make an appointment with a fertility specialist to determine the reason behind her infertility.

There is really nothing you can say to her to make her feel better. Just be there for her when she is upset.

Has your sister had any tests or investigations as to why?
It took me and my husband 5 years to get pregnant and yes it was stressful.
In the finish it turned out that i had a slight abnormality with my uterus. I had a simple operation to correct it.
Now i have two healthy boys aged 3 and 7 months.
As always if problems persist seek medical advice sooner rather than later.
I wish your sister well and tell her not to give up. I didn't !!

First of all she could have a "tillted uterus" which makes things a little tougher in getting pregnant, but she can. It just take time.
Really the more you worry the worse things are, just have fun. But her and her husband can't have se..too often which lowers his sperm count. And once they are done, he should immediatly remove himself. If you don't the heat kills the sperm. That is why his boys are on the outside of his body. Also she can try putting her legs up afterwards for a couple of minutes or so.
Good luck.
