I work for a big company, and I find a lot of women are in competition with me. I am a pretty girl, or so I have been told, and I feel people are just jealous of me most of the time. I am NOT vain towards myself, and I am NOT conceited, I just want to know if anyone else experiences this at work and how to come across as not competitive. I am just being myself but for some reason people always want to compete with everything with me.

Any suggestions??

A lot of women feel they have to compete with other women to survive probably because society and the media make everything into a competition. Maybe you subconsciously play up your looks or flirt at work and this upsets people I don't know. What it comes down to in the long run is that you can never keep everyone happy or pleased. As long as you are happy with the way you portray yourself and work and other places then don't worry about it. Go out of your way to be friendly to those people who seem to have a problem and let it be their problem not yours.

I can completely relate to you. I am told all the time How beautiful I am but I am not a vain or conceited person. People tell me I am but I'm not. I actually feel that I have a low self esteem and then I have all these other people tell me I'm conceited so when I talked to some friends about it they said they're just jealous. They want what you got. It makes me feel bad b/c I don't want to make anyone feel less. Some of these people I feel are prettier then me. But whatever you do don't change!!!! We can not help who we are or what we look like. Just be grateful and they can just get over it. We can compromise ourselves to fit others. That's not fair to us. Be true to yourself!! I wish you lots of luck!

Be yourself! People will accept you easier for who you truly are rather than who your trying to be. Do not take it personally. You are who you are by your nature; your character & your personality. You are far better off being in a competetive environment than a combative one.If what people see in you is genuinely you, there should be no reason for change. In a large company you have to be competetive in order to advance & succeed. Otherwise you'll be left in the shadows.

MY SUGGESTION: BE YOURSELF! Don't change for ANYONE!Like it or not, there will always be someone with an attitude about something or another. You are a prime example that your natural beauty shines through because you care for yourself and must have great hygiene!
