A catch 22 is a double bind, where a person is caught in between 2 demands.

A Catch 22, so named after the famous dilemma in the Joseph Heller novel of the same name, is a situation where choosing one outcome negates the desirability of that outcome. In the book, a pilot could get out of flying more missions if he were crazy. But, if he asked to stop flying, he would be immediately labled sane for doing do, because only a crazy person would want to keep flying dangerous missions.

A catch 22 is when you win in the end, but you also lose. For you it is a win/lose situation.
