Not much. Bush's administration was warned about this before entering Iraq (that these two factions would push Iraq into a civil war), but ignored this fact. The only way any peace will be found now is if Iran, Syria and other middle east countries step up and help fix what America broke... But America, Britian and all other invading countries also must carry their weight... This is certainly no time, as Bush says, to cut and run... Ho! HO! doesn't it suck Mr Bush when the shoe is on the other foot... The fat is in the fire...

Ask the same question in about 30 Years time. There are estimated to be officially 164 conflicts (as in wars) going on in the world some have been going for 30 years or more. Angola for example. Until we humans actually get tired of killing each other and inventing new and nastier ways to do it there is no chance of peace. If you think you live in peace just check your papers and count up the murders and shootings in an average week. You may argue it is relative, but the fact is in our societies peace is imposed. The 'ruling power' has the authority to detain its citizens even in our 'democracies'. People in other countries can see the hypocrisies in our system and do not take to our 'preaching' about how they should live, pray, or govern their own. Would we?

Probably none at all. The only hope is to split it up into individual religious areas and conduct an enormous migration plan to move everyone about - for their own safety. It's been done before (India and East/West Pakistan and Bangladesh). The carnage will continue until this becomes defacto solution anyway because each group will migrate to the areas they feel safest in. There's not enough interest it seems in a federal solution.

Absolutely none - you only have to look around the new 'developing' world to see there's nothing but angst - Srilanka [Ceylon] most African countries, the 'Middle East' pre-oil and since the West helped them discover 'oil' and other areas probably too numerous to mention.

The mind set is primitive the only modern day assets they can claim are money through oil or handouts from other countries which enter the coffers of the corrupt presidents.

I hope you're in the UK, 'cos this wont make much sense otherwise - but I'm afraid there's as much hope of peace in Iraq as there was of peace between Catholic and Protestant in Northern Ireland during the past 40 years.

Little to None. Its the same ancient fight that continues through out Africa and between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
Peace is not an attraction, or an interest. They want to obliterate the other side - period. The faster we admit that, the faster we can save our own soldiers!
