Do they just wait for the baby to cry for any reason and then shoot the movie? Do they hit the little bastards to make them cry? Are all movie babies computer generated?

I was told by someone in the Soap industry that if the mom leaving the room doesn't work, they actually flick the bottom of their feet. Horrible, right???

i have heard that they have the mother on set then when they need the baby to cry they have the mother leave the set

i worked for a film production once and i can tell you this:
The secret is not to make them cry...it's to make them stop!!!
Believe me it's hard and lots of professionals in hand.
Bet they get scared!!
