What organic remedy can I use to control sewer root problem?

I've heard that you can put a cup of rock salt down the toilet once a month. Will kill the roots in the drain.

Bleach in a dry line will 'put a hurtin'' on exposed roots, but it won't clear them out. Maybe over time but who in the world has ANY patience when the sewer won't drain. Sulferic Acid is what I use, but I can't ADVISE you to use it.
