If you put up a real tree now it won't last through Christmas. Personally I think this is too early - I think it takes away from the anticipation & excitement if it's up too early. I pefer to wait until about a week before Christmas. However, it's your home & your tree . . . Happy Christmas anyway.

Traditionally, it would be done on Christmas Eve!
Hence "The twelve days of Christmas" (with the escalating gifts in the classic Christmas song) lasting through to January 6th, when the Christmas decorations had to come down. It was considered unlucky to leave them up longer, or take them down earlier. (confirming URL below, but I knew that!)
As a child, Christmas Eve tree decorating was for me the part of the real day leading to Christmas.
Yes, commercialisation has pushed it earlier, for many, it seems. In which case you pays your money, and makes your choice.

I always put mine up on the weekend before Christmas, but this is not everybody's preference. I just think Christmas gets a bit old hat if you have your tree and decorations up too long.
I'm sure you can talk your hubby round if you would really like it up now. :-) Pamper him a bit! lol

I believe the day after Thanksgivings is the best day.
Then again, I'd have all my Halloween and Christmas decorations us year round if my hubby would let me!

I would go ahead now. I would leave my tree up year-round if possible. I love Christmas, and can't wait to get started on my tree either!
