The DS (original or Lite) can play all DS games as well as Gameboy Advanced games.
If you haven't already purchased a DS and are trying to decide between the two, go for the Lite. It has several changes for the better from the original and is well worth the few extra dollars.

no, the DS games are compatible with both the nintendo DS and the Nintendo DS lite

the games are compatible in both the Lite and the original....They dont have different games....because old Ds owners will be on a fritz.....

The DS Lite is only a redesigned DS, it is not a different machine.
