Rumor has it that a highly modified idrive (meaning a system non-computer geeks can actually operate) is in the works at BMW. Of course this won't show up for years and the poor customers that still remember when BMW was the 'ultimate driving machine' vs 'the ultimate gizmo designed-by-a-commitee styling wagon' will have to suffer through the present hell on a stick system. Why is it that the good folks at BMW can't seem to understand that many people want to DRIVE their cars vs riding in them? I personally do not need ABS, SRS, i-drive, nav system, stability control, traction control, auto wiper system, auto headlamp system, etc, etc, blah...blah. I don't even like automatic transmissions. Am I a cave man?
