The Beatles influenced all popular music today. Foreign musicians would be nowhere without them. They are by far, and without question, the most influential band of all time. I could write a doctoral dissertation to this extent (and actually may do so when the time comes), but even if you are unable to appreciate their musical style, you must apprectiate their overwhelming influence and lasting impact on all of music.
As to your claim that they are pretentious, they are definately not. John, for example, grew up modestly. His mother, Julia, was killed when he was young, and he grew up in a home he called Mendips with his Grandma. The group as a whole went through many iterations until it eventually became the Beatles we know today.

It's almost impossible for someone to tell you why you shoul like something you know you don't like. How much Beatles music have you heard? In addition to the cliche Beatles songs that most people know, they have an endless amount of brilliant material. Knowing how much Beatles music you've heard and what you've heard would be helpful.

I can't really enlighten you because I do enjoy The Beatles, however, the same thing happens to me with The Rolling Stones.

It was because The Beatles in their time was innovative and original. They wrote their own songs and ventured off into new territory. I am not a HUGE Beatles fan like some, but I respect what they did.

you can't really judge the beatles on their personalities i mean have you ever met them and spent time with them. Often times what happens on and off the camera is very different. And besides even if they are snobs their music kicks major butt

Beatles was great, is great, and will remain great. Good music is not aging. Like Bach and Mozart, The Beatles will remain in our heart and ear.
You can dislike them but it will not change or reduce their greatness.
