LOL, to answer your question: No, my husband and I do NOT practice this so called "domestic discipline". We are both grown adults and we do it by talking about our differences. We do not need spanking like two unruly kids.

Many individuals and couples have fetishes of being spanked and to give spankings to others. This can be male or female, many people incorporate spanking with sex, and may use this to arouse each other during sexual acts. Most likely you both like it and there is nothing wrong with it. Possible you like to play a role of the bad girl who deserves punishment. I would estimate that about 1 in 10 women likes to be spanked during or before sex to a different degree of pain.

What your basically describing is a typical Dominant/Submissive relationship. Apparantly, you are the Submissive, your husband, is Dominant.
I believe that there are more couples who engage in this type of relationship than people are comfortable with. As long as the couple is clear in their role(s) and the implicit trust is established and remains, you should have a good relationship.
There is a definate distinction between this type of relationship, S/M, B/D, ect. That's where the ignorance and steryotypes come into play. Those who participate in these lifestyles and/or activities, are not freaks or strange. They're simply expressing themselves in a way that's different that the so-called norm,

You got to be kidding me. Why would you be in a relationship like that. I thought you only got punished or spanked when you were a child, and did something wrong. Just another way for a man to have control over women. I guess if your dumb enough to put up with it let him spank away, but dont come crying to us when you really make him mad and he beats the crap out of you.

DD wouldn't be my thing - for me spanking is all about erotic play, with the 'punishment' element just part of the play-acting. But I know quite a few couples who practise DD - in most cases it's M/F, though not invariably - and it seems to work just fine for them. So if it's entirely consensual, as it evidently is in your case, I can't see why anyone should object. Enjoy!

My wife and I also practice this. I punish her with a spanking if she breaks the rules I rarely spank her. I save spanking for severe or repated offenses.

So do you get to spank him if he does something wrong? And is there really any difference between this and abuse? Obviously any couple can do whatever they want...but I'm pretty sure that this is not something we want to perpetuate in our society!!

Whatever works for you, as long as you both agree.
For me...there's no way I'd allow my husband to lay a finger on me.
