It must me me putting the Hex on 'em Sassy! I loved all these shows and they all got canned! I've even got em all on dvd! You forgot the other biggie - Buffy as well. These are "cult " shows for a cult audience and are never gonna get big ratings. There comes a time when the execs in the USA decide the viewing figs aren't worth the money spent making these shows and they get the chop. Pity those shows rocked!

Shows that run for a long time like Angel, Alias and Charmed are canceled so that they can end on a high note instead of everyone thinking that they are old and that they are not worth watching. Plus it is also good for the actors and actresses to move on with their careers so that they aren't just known for one type of show. I know that is sucks when your favorite shows are canceled but look at it as an opportunity for the actors and actresses along with the crew to move on to bigger and better things. And sometimes they are canceled because the shows just suck.

Shows are cancelled for a variety of reasons.

Ratings is the biggest reason. If a show doesn;t garner X amount of viewers, rates for ads go down, so it becomes a losing proposition.

And if a show is getting shuttled about from time slot to time slot, the network is trying to kill it off

Another phenomena is "jumping the shark".

This is when a show crosses an imaginary boundary and quality goes downhill. Sometimes, key writers go, actors are unhappy with the contract or the show has worn out its welcome and becomes forced.

[Jumping the shark comes from the TV show 'Happy Days' when the Fonz, while water skiing, jumped over a shark as a humerous ploy. From that point on, the show lost credibility and audience share, thus the phrase]

some TV shows run their course, it better to finish them while they are still good e.g. charmed and star trek deep space 9.

some shows unfortunately, fail to get a large enough view figures to stay on so the company just cancels them.

however there is always enough money for the same type of programme that seams to been on TV now since it cheap.

we can not do much the programme planers ideas, if one things then lets over do it, hence we lose the good TV programmes

Because when women aged over 30, the world think we are to old to act or be pretty. But we got despeated housewives of women in their 40's. The youth rules what they like to watch, after we reach our 20's we were the youth, and now just to old to determined what we like the view. That's hollywood, the old is always kick out and the youth only have a limited of years!

Becuase the majority of TV views are dumba**es and prefer reality shows and soap operas. I guess show with substance are just too hard to understand.

At least there is still House, Mind of Mencia, and Bones.
