In movies, it always seems like Black people are portrayed as the loud, ebonic-speaking, ghetto, scared of ghosts, run as fast as possible away from anything that endangers them character. Anyone else notice this? I just saw this ANIMATED movie, Monster House, the other day, and even that kids movie had a black character that was completely a joke. Why does this happen? And why do Black actors sign on to these projects that blatantly make fun of themselves?

It's good money and it isn't true what you say. Sidney Portier had
a lot of good miovies where he was an intelligeent Black Man but
it is entertainment and a scared Black guy is so so funny.

Wrong. Denzel Washington is a great Shakesperian actor in Much Ado About Nothing as well as an oscar winner and nominee several times and will again. Halle Berry won Best Actress. Diane Ross was great in Mahongany. Sidney Portier was an oscar winner. And...what about Morgan Freeman? He is one of the all time greats. I don't know if he ever played Shakespeare but he has that voice .... like none other.
What are you talking about? Are you living on a cloud or what?

I think you may be missing some great movies where black people are portrayed as very intelligent. And if a black actor takes a part like you mentioned maybe it is because the actor has a sense of humor.

U may be generalizing a bit. I see movies, animated or not, where the majority of doofuses, nerds, dorks, wimps, etc. are white. Every race has people in it who act for money & fame, & there's no shame in taking a role that's silly. If they can laugh @ themselves, why can't we laugh w/ them? If we didn't, Chris Tucker, Ice Cube & Dave Chappelle would be broke.
By the way, I don't see Sidney Poitier, Denzel, Halle, Morgan Freeman, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Taye Diggs, or my boyfriend Jessie L. Martin being labeled as doofuses too often.

I just watched that movie 2 weeks and i said the exact same thing about the black cop in the movie, i dont understand why they do things to stereo type themselve for comedy, I think maybe some need the work or the spotlight to get themselves seen in the industry, but why well know black comedians do it, i dont know

We consume Latino and Black infants for breakfast, and we usually have seconds. chuffed? i understand that's what you needed to take heed to. Take it from me, a white American. we are evil incarnate. we are so undesirable. do no longer come to u . s . because of the fact the White human beings will consume you. we studied film in my college and this came up --in fact, when a channel first starts out they can get the numbers they need to have to be continued by running low budg black comedies. then once they have the numbers they switch to other stuff (Fox did this.). the first feature length film was extremely racist. I can't remember the name. something nation. I think it might've been funded by the klu klux klan even --but not sure.

money, money, money, money,,..............MONEY! Stereotypically alot of them can be loud, ghetto and speak Ebonics. The ones I see in the grocery store, in a restaurant, the mall etc...tend to make a huge scene. Its a shame because that small portion, hurts the rest. They are to the black community, what rednecks are to the white community.

Because they portray themselves as comedians, gangsters, rappers, drug dealers, and athletes while the Chinese portray themselves as martial artists, kung fu master, and master swordsman like me.
