Guys.. there is nothing like best... it all depends upon 'your objective' ie your requirements decide the best. Intel offers CPUs in two brands - pentium and celeron. if you've more money, then you could go for pentium. celeron is low-cost processor and it does effective than pentium. Another one is AMD's Athlon its all so cheap and faster. My opinion falls on Athlon.

The best CPU is the CPU that suits your needs! If your a general type user than Intel will more than do for you. If your a heavy gamer, think AMD. One is not much better than the other any longer, the playing field has leveled somewhat.

All depends on your needs. I do a lot of video and burning, I just purchase a 3.0GHz P4 Dual Core and Mobo combo with heatsink/fan for $100 after mail in rebates regular price was $ 169.00 and YES its Dual Core P4 3.0GHz I had to do a double take also on the price...But again its all up to you...Thanks
