You need to get the users manual on the system and look up the model number to see what the highest CPU is that the system will take. A Board that came stock worth a 700 may take up to a 1Ghz CPU but it has to be another Celeron.

The bad news in all this is the fact that the CPU you will need is most likely not available. If you do find one the cost to replace it may be a LOT ore then you want to spend.

I went to www.pricewatch.com and the cheapest was a 888mhz Celeron CPU which was 80.00 but theres no way to know if your system will handle it. Again you to see what the board can take.

It might be cheaper to buy a new low end tower. In the long run you might be happier.

Good Luck

To be absolutely sure about which mobo that you have download "Belarc Advisor" it's free and will give you a ton of information about your computer, including the all important key codes for your operating system and other programs that require them to install. Belarc will tell you the manufacturer's name model number, and the serial number of your mobo. You should be able to use a 370 pin P3 processor with this mobo. Celerons and P3 are pretty much interchangeable.

You need to find another AMD cpu that fits the same socket type. AMD has socket 939, socket AM2, socket 754, socket A, socket F. You need to find out what socket type your cpu is and buy a newer one with the same socket type. If you want to use the celeron you will have to buy a new motherboard that supports that socket type (either LGA 775 or socket 478)
