Yes, you can safetly burn a diseased oak in a fireplace without concern that the disease will spread. The fire will kill any disease that might be present in the firewood.

burn away the disease will not make it thru the fire so it is safe just watch why and how you stack the wood before you burn it best to rap it in plastic until it actually goes into the fire don't want to loose that nice oak sofa and sideboy
