why not just make some Christmas cards that would be nice or even Indian dream catchers there fun to make, look in to yahoo or messenger for those dream catchers in crafts.or make them a special poem,Popsicle stick you could make some things like to put there pencils in or any thing else you could make with that.or go to a dollars store.do little fingers pup-its,write them each a joke on nice paper at the dollars store and surround it with a little bow red or green.or give them one of your specials pictures and make little bow around them.or ask them if they want to exchange gifts with all of you in the party, ill explain every one brings somethings they don't want any more but it has to be something nice, not broken only nice thing that they don't want anymore, then they rap-pit up and bring the gift to the party,oh yes don't forget to put names in a box and every body picks a name before Christmas and then they could go home and check what they don't want to have anymore, but they shall not tell anybody about it will be a surprise for them,we made that a couples of time and you should of see what nice present we had we were all happy and laughter together it was fun..........oh yes.

Maybe vary the gifts. I like the two responses you got already (baked goods and jewelry). What about fruit baskets with candy? Those are easy and quick and affordable.
Gift baskets are always fun to make and receive. You can do homemade potpourri, soaps, bath salts...or go the food route with jellys, jams, baked goods etc.
Do a search for things you like and things your friends/family would like and print out some recipes.
also if you take some pictures you can do a calendar. I think you only need the basic stuff that comes with most computers (I'm not computer savvy but my husband makes them all the time for my grandma, his father etc...) You could use a picture per month and highlight the special days each month (like birthdays, anniversaries etc)
Have fun with it. It sure does sound fun. Your friends and family are lucky that you care so much. :)

This idea takes some time and effort but definitely worth the time. I bought styrofoam balls, long pins (not the short ones), sequins, and beads all in a variety of colors. Then I took the pins and in patterns around the balls, I put beads and sequins (all on one pin) and totally covered the balls. (Hopefully I explained that well enough without the visual.) They are absolutely gorgeous ornaments for the tree. Oh yeah, I also put a ribbon with a bead or two on the top for hanging. They get to see it every year and remember you. I made one for each family and they were a huge hit.

Have you ever seen those "gourmet" taffy apples? They cost like $6-8 each but you could probably make them yourself for far less and they would be better looking. Not many people would spend that kind of money on themselves for a one time treat but would love to get one. Wrap them in pretty Christmas themed cellophane or plastic wrap and present them in a cute little dollar store basket along with a handmade gift tag.

how about homemade ornaments? Baked goods are also a great gift idea. Another thing would be make a special meal, they would really appreciate that. Or if you have windows movie maker you could make a slideshow/video from the stuff you did that year. That would be an awesome gift!

Make some Christmas Ornaments. Use the 3-2-1 method. 3 Cups Flour, 2 Cups Water and 1 Cup Salt. Mix together. Use cookie cutters to make fun shapes. Push a paper clip through the top of the ornament so you will be able to hang the ornament on the tree, or use a straw and poke a hole through the top of it so you can tie a ribbon through it to hang on the tree.
*you can seperate the dough once it is mixed into 3 or 4 different bowls and add a color of food coloring to each bowl to create a different color dough.

I use Longs to do my calendars!!! The grandparents get one! they love it. The gift that keeps on giving all year.

If you know someone whose recently had a baby, a wedding, or even for yourself after a gerat vacation don't scrap book!
I think stuff like www.lulu.com is really great. for under $10.00 you can make your own book. Google for other sites to use which may cost less depending on your location.
My family got together and we made a book for my grandparents anniversary with pictures from throughout their lives. It turned out great. Im doing one for my brother and sister in law for Christmas of their wedding.

Maybe you can use your creativity to make some nice Christmas tree decorations. You can use all types of unusual material to make some very sweet gifts. The ones you give these nice presents are very likely to hang it their trees which will remind them of a special friend who thought of them.

I think you should make home made bracelets and necklaces for chirstmas, and get the glass beads they are very pretty, and also if you gte the chance go to corning glass museum, very cool place, and you can make all different things, like beads for a necklace and a flowered piece for your friend. Money is always good too.
