I have my computer hooked up to a surge protector (very expensive one). All my computer screen says when I try to reboot it is no connection. I checked the cords and everything is connected properly. I hope my system didn't get fried and if it did shouldn't the company I got the surge protector from pay for it?

Check your connection between the computer and monitor.
Either the monitor is dead or there is a problem with the cable between the two. For all you know, it may simply be ajar from the computer.

This is one of the things I would try. Switch off the surge protector while the computer is on and leave it off for a few minutes. Turn the protector on first then boot up the computer. Also there may be a problem with your monitor if it was not plugged into the surger too. Good Luck,
E

Try turning the monitor itself off for a few minutes and then switch it back on. While your waiting, check the wires to the computer and to the monitor. If it still doesn't work, take the monitor to another computer and try it. The next thing, is the video card inter grated into the mainboard or is it a separate PCI expansion card? If you fried the onboard video, you could get a PCI video expansion card, but you must disable the onboard video, which may have happened through frying! Does the computer "beep" when you first turn it on? Count the "beeps". This is a code. If you know who made the BIOS in your computer, you can figure out what the beep code is telling you.

Yeah, If the fan from the powersupply is running in the computer then it probably is the motherboard that got fired. I found this happened on my sister's board we had to to replace it.

I would check the warrenty of your comptuer to see if they will fix it.
