I have no idea. I think that we stereotype people so much, that we EXPECT and associate each type of music, food, religion, style, etc... with the different races. I am white and my husband is black. I am from the south and he is from the north. People would expect me to be into Country music, which I am, however, I like other types as well. Now my hubby, he isn't really into hip-hop or rap, but he is definitely into heavy metal and alternative music! He likes artists such as: Rob Zombie, Metallica, Kiss (oh geez he loves Kiss), Disturbed, Nicekback, Led Zeppelin, Tears for Fears (lol old group and I can not stand them) and lots of 80s music. And those are just a few of the bands. He also likes jazz, R&B, and an occasional.. extreme occasional Country.

But you see, we all are different individuals with our own preferences. Maybe someday, others will stop stereotyping others.. I think we are all guilty of it. If we do that, then we can see and appreciate the individual for who they are!

It's because some people can be narrow-minded.. Just because most of the rappers and r&b artists are black doesn't mean that all black people loves that genre.. There's nothing weird about a black person that loves heavy metal..

It's not. It just a streotype thing. Some people assume that because a large number of blacks are into R&B and rap then that should be the case for everyone but that's not the reality.

It works both ways and it's wrong either way. A lot of white people get derided for liking rap and r & b. It's like you're meant to stick to your own terratory. It's stupid. You like whatever you want mate and ignore the bigots.

it's all down to media - people see more black people in R&B and hip hop bands, so they automatically think that all black people fit into that stereotype. i don't think it's weird, but i admit that it's unusual to see a black person in a rock / metal band.... although one of my all - time favorite female singers is Skin from Skunk Anansie....

Its not wierd, its just backwards....it's like a chef with a taste for only peanut butter and jelly....be foreal, you have so much more SOUL than that. The real crazy part is that rock & roll was originaly a black artform as well, but like most of our creations it gets taken over and "white-washed" unfortunatley the black person who's stuck on heavy metal might just be "brain-washed"!

Stereotypes. Many people think that if you're black you must like a certain kind of music and the same for white people. I'm black and I like many kinds of music.

its not weird, people today are just extremely racist. you dont have to love rap and/or r&b just because you are black. thats racist!!! just do what you love and f*** the rest of the people who think differently :)
