Obviously the people here have not been watching the technology news. The Mac has a better more stable, easier to use OS. Since they have gone to the intel chip, Macs can now run Windows and the Mac OS
M-m-m-m. This gives you a choice, you can now run both operating systems. This is not to mention that Apple is picking up market share and were rated by Consumer Reports to have the best support. I agree with this whole heartedly, I am a Mac owner, last night for the first time in about 6 weeks, I recycled my Mac, I do not get hangs or viruses, when I have a problem I call Apple and get an English speaking support person or I drive to the Apple store, where, everytime, my problem has been taken care of in a matter of minutes.
Last year Apple got notebook of the year, desktop of the year and server of the year. They also have the latest out of the box failure rate.
The new Windows OS system will look a lot like the current Apple OS, which Apple is about to replace.
Before you take my word or any else word on here, I advise you to do some research before you buy anything, I am 99% sure that you will go with a Mac. Dollar for dollar, they are becoming the best buy.

Well I guess you really want to start the fur flying?
PC devotees will swear by (when not swearing at) their Windoze machines. I'm a Mac person. I don't have constant crashes and lockups. I don't have the tens of thousands of virii.I have real Plug and Play, not Plug and Pray!! I have the capabilities to run Windoze software if I want as well as Mac software and even Unix software. I pay the same for my Macs as a COMPARABLE PC. (Not the stripped down $500 throwaway units.) I have top of the line video/audio, ethernet, Bluetooth, Firewire, etc. (comes standard from the factory that way)
BTW: a note for Expert!!!??? Mac now has a higher share of the marketplace than ever. (more than 30%, which is more than any 2 of the PC manufacturers) Where do you think those Macs are going? Every year the PC mags (supported by ads from PC manufacturers incidently) talk about the death of Apple (Their competition!) and every year Apple gets a larger share of the market. Did you know that Bill Gates bought thousands of shares of Apple stock a few years ago?

If you own a mac, then mac is better
if you own a pc, then pc is better
There is a bit of rivalry between the brands therefore a question such as yours will never have an honest answer. The best bet is to go for what you know. What brand do you know best, what brand have you the most experience with and what did you like or dislke about it?
I have a mac because in my opinion the set up is better for storing music and photos, thats all i need my lap top for and it does a great job. If you are creative, artisitc, into architecture or design then perhaps go for Mac. If you are more buisness orientated and spend more time in the office with microsoft programming then go for PC.
It also helps to match your other electronic products with your computer, its just easier..
Hope this helps, it took me a while to figure what I wanted too, but I went with Mac and am pretty happy, no problems yet! ciao.

Ah. a good question. I work with a Mac... as it is how I grew up. I think that they are easy to use, and anything works on them. However, I also work with Windows, as my school has all Windows running machines... even with years of experience with Windows, I still think it just cannot compete with Macs. However, a lot of my friends say Windows all the way... just because that's how they grew up.
So, it really depends. If you grew up using Windows, you'll probably have a better time using them.
If you grew up using Macs, you'll have a better time using it.
Just remember that both computers have their strong points... Mac runs Windows... but Dell costs less....
the list goes on.
Good luck, no matter which computer you choose!

PC. Apple had their chance, but they blew it because they opted to go with a proprietary system that was not open to others like IBM compatibles. Because of this flaw in their business model, they'll never be as relevant nor make sufficient gains of market share. However, that being said, they probably have a better machine in most instances, but they do not integrate as well as PC's with other PC's.
