I asked this 3 x. and i get answers from dumbasses that want to label me an addict etc. JUst answer the question. I dont need advice on the pills i am on or wether i am addicted, etc. That was not my question,. I work to help addicted people, so i know i am addicted to my pills. Either i lay in bed and cry as i try to walk, or take pills till i have surgery you idiot. ANd to the person that said i am not in pain...i pray you go throught this so you have compassion, and i normally wouldn't pray for my enemy to go through this. My question was if i have the right to pick my surgeon. I have state insurance, there is no problems with it getting denied. I don't think i should have to support a practice that treats you bad. I think you should have some say to the person that is going to stick a knife in you, and then the pain is up to them after. Would you pick a surgeon that wants to cut you and put you on asprin afterwords? Does anyone understand?

I am looking for help to get rid of this pain and a surgeon that wont let me go through hell. Undersatnd? You *** holes seem to think that an addict should go through pain just because. That is inhumane! I am addicted now to these pills, oh bad me, so i get off and can't walk and cry? That is in humane you dick heads. Go let yourself get run over and stay at home. NO pills or help. See how you feel. Stick a knife in your eyeball....stay there a few days and tell me hoe it feels. As for any smart people with suggestions on picking docs?

I think you need to understand something about state insurance because I deal with so many patients with it per day.
1. State insurance only covers what is needed to be done, the bear minimum to get you back on your feet and able to work. It is not an HMO where you can chose that choice was lost since you are on a state plan where all citizens pay out of their taxes for your medical needs.
2. The reason a surgeon will put you only on aspirin or ibuprofen is because you are addicted to narcotics/prescription medication.
3. I understand that you are in pain but the pain medication is only a blanket for the real reason that is why the surgeon wants you to HAVE SURGERY!!!!
Get the surgery done, get off the prescription medication and you will feel better about yourself and your life and then you can work and get insurance that lets you chose until then the state is making the decisions. Good Luck!

Doesn't sound like you pay for that insurance...the state does...so I would say NO....you don't have much of a choice.

But look at your options.....no surgery and live with the pain...or have the surgery and be thankful YOU actually have some sort of medical coverage...b/c many hard working Americans don't!!!!

Edit: You're a nasty SOB....and I'm not surprised you have issues dealing with people.
While you may no longer be a heroin addict....YOU'RE STILL AN ADDICT! You just have an "excuse" now to be one or atleast claim to......isn't that special.....does the state pay for your addiction too?

Let me guess...you're on SSI too?

Sometimes. Depending on if your insurance will cover the doctor. You say you have state insurance...if it is Medicaid you can call your local Human Services or whoever funds the insurance they can tell you if the doctor is covered. But, yes you can always choose your own surgeon, but you might have to pay. Good luck.

You have the right to pick your surgeon, or refuse treatment entirely.

If you don't have the right to choose that, I would wonder who has the right to choose it for you, and how come they have it and I don't.

You don't have a right to have it paid for by someone else, though. That would come from a contract, and yes, it does sound like you have that covered.

get off your pills then ask the question
you obviously can't have a straight mind on all those pills

you started doing heroin, jackass. so why should you expect compassion? your fault.
