I admit that I really had no idea as to what the show was about other than the fact that it starred that woman from the Carol Burnett show. It was only after it went into syndication that I really started watching it. Even at that, it will really nothing more than a stupid sitcom that did not really make me feel any better or worse about myself.

One thing that I liked about 70's sitcoms is that they actually had meaning and feeling regardless of how silly the characters were. But by the time the 80's came around there were only a handful of good sitcoms. Most of them sucked.

I don't think it had only one season - It may have had only one on network and then gone into syndication after that, but the episodes after Carol Burnett ran roughly from 1983 or so up to 1989 I think. I have probably seen every episode of that goofy show at least 3 times apiece. Guilty pleasure I guess.

Because it sucked. Not a rude answer, just the truth!

But imdb.com says it lasted eight seasons.

Or is just one season available on DVD? Then my answer is correct.

Was it just one season?
I guess because it was a silly, wholesome show,
with low first ratings, that didn't catch on
until after it was in syndication.
I like that show.
