I havn't installed anything new and it's been working just fine. I woke up this morning, turned on my computer, tried to play a game and it appeared. I ran disk check and it seemed to fix the problem but it happened again. Can I do anything? Are there any programs to fix it?

It may related on your hardware. If any hard disc partion has a damage, you may face to Blue screen... Installing windows in a mistaken way, may result of this, also.

I'm guessing your using Windows 98. This problem was later fixed with Windows XP. Windows 98 has a problem where it allocates memory and never releases it when its done with it. The effect it has is that if you leave your computer on for long periods of time the OS eats up all the memory and eventually crashes. The best way i know of to prevent this is to reboot your computer occasionally. I think you can actually set up a timed task in which your computer automatically reboots. You could possibly set it up to reboot at 1:00 in the morning so it never causes a problem. This is just a fact of life with windows 98. Its can be pretty unstable.

Abbreviated BSOD, an error that can appear on computers running in a Windows environment. This includes even the earliest versions of Windows, such as Windows 3.0 and 3.1, and still occurs in later versions such as Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, and Windows 2000. Jokingly called the blue screen of death because when the error occurs, the screen turns blue, and the computer almost always freezes and requires rebooting.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
