I am applying for design crafts at uni and i dnt know how to begin my statement in an interesting way...

Seriously, we'd have to know what sort of a personal statement you have to make in order to be able to answer this. I'm assuming it's something such as "Tell us why you want to apply to this program." In which case I'd write about a specific incident which inspired you to do design crafts.

Presumably, this program is a step from where you are to where you want to be.
You might start at a chosen point in the past and explain how everything you did has led you to this point, and proceed on to how you expect the program to help.
Or, you might start by declaring where you plan to be in ten years, and work backward in time to how you expect the program to help you get there, and close with explaining why the past demonstrates you are worthy.
