Why suicide? If you commit a crime, you will go to prison and have free food, lodging and medical care. May need to change your sexual preference, but if you are considering doing yourself in, it might be a better alternative.
Shocked at the answer? We'll hope so.
By and large people who are talking about suicide, particularly on a public forum, are looking to be talked out of it or are looking for attention.
All counseling will do for you is let you know that you need to find the strength to continue from inside yourself and from those around you.
Have you been to a credit counseling service? Done anything to make the situation better? If not, start there.

There are a lot of good answer in here which have been given thunbs down and i'm not sure why? It looks like some idiot is messing about with the thumbs down. Firstly, you should definately go to your doctor, he or she can prescribe an anti depressant and refer you to councelling or a psychologist.
Secondly, it is a myth that people who talk about suicide just want attention or are looking to be talked out of it or won't do it. People who talk about suicide talk about it because it's on their mind and they are asking for help. At present the statistics for people admitting to contemplating suicide in Britain are at 50 percent, that doesnt include the ones who don't admit it, so you are not alone in this at least half the people you know will have thought about it at some point even if they choose to deny it.
Finally, who the F**K says that someone with suicidal thoughts gets carted away and locked up and tested on. It's S**T like that which makes it hard for people to ask for help in the first place.
Be honest with your doctor and your therapist, they are there to help not to scheme against you. The only time they can break confidentiality is if they believe that you are a risk to others or a real risk to yourself. You are asking for help and they will have heard this story several times and will have the experience to help, it won't be a shock to them or a report to the police for you. Anti-depressants are not hard to come off if you follow your doctors advice fully and seeing a psychiatrist does not equate to being sectioned believe it or not, it is really difficult to have somebody sectioned under the mental health act and they certainly don't do it just because someone feels suicidal due to debt problems.
If you're having trouble with your finances and the bank won't help try the CAB or debt free direct. A friend of mine works for them and she assures me that they look for every other alternative before selling you an IVA or declaring bancruptcy. Ask a friend to help with this cos you seem quite vulnerable at the minute and a friend can help prevent you from being pushed into something you don't want.
Good luck with all this

Yes, she would help. If she personally could not, she would find someone to help you.
Suicide is never the answer.
My dad committed suicide because he thought we would be better off.
He was wrong. The utter devastation he left behind with people who loved him was enormous.
It is never the way to go. Find something to have Hope in.
Your future is what you make it so make it stand for something.
If you start doing volunteer work at a shelter near you, you will find you most likely no longer feel how you do now.
Helping others will help how you feel inside and outside.
God Bless

Are you saying you are in debt as in bankruptcy? That's a whole different story than feeling suicidal, however if you went to a doctor and said that they would be required by law to report you to the police and someone would baker act you and take you away for testing and hospitalization till you improved. So don't be so hasty to use that phrase "suicidal". If you need help from life coaches or a psychologist or a counselor of some type or a paralegal just ask for that instead. use my email.

Well the doctor can not help you with your debts. They could perhaps suggest that you contact the citizens advice in your area. They could give you different options. You need help with organising your finances and perhaps help as to why you have allowed yourself to end up in so much debt. If you look at the worlds debt then I am sure yours is fixable. Hang in there and I hope you get the help you need.

You may owe money, but no amount of money owed should make you take your own life... It may seem the only solution but think about all the pain you will leave behind... Please go and see your Doctor and hopefully they will refer you for counselling.. Also go and visit your local Citizen Advice they will be able to help you with your debts... This is just a rough patch at the moment things will get better.

hi I can relate to your problem about being in so much debt to the point that it makes you feel like there is no way out. In answer to your question about if your doctor would help you if you told them you were feeling suicidal. the answer is yes. A doctor is required to help their patient out in any way possible by suggesting some form of anti-depressant. I hope it get's better. There are a lot of resources to help people who are in debt. Check the web. Good luck

Yes, she would refer you to a counselor and probably give you an anti-depressant prescription to get you over the rough spot. As for the debt problem, go to one of the credit counseling places or call each of your bills payment offices and set up a low payment plan so you can catch up.

please don't commit suicide it really is not the answer and leaves so much hurt for those you leave behind.
Talk to your bank and creditors and ask them for a rescue package they have to help you.
Alternatively you may consider declaring yourself bankrupt.
Most important keep talking to them until you've come up with an agreement. It would seem a shame to take your life just because of some paper or numbers on a computer.

yes your doctor should refer you to a counsellor & prescribe anti depressants as well as give you guidance, debt is not a cause for suicide there are debt management services advertised every where, ask in your bank if you can set up a way of paying back the money, they are sure to assist you. this is a manageable situation, which in time can be dealt with..dont give up, sort it out!! Good luck hunny X
