Depends on the family and the number of kids. The average these days seems to be $3 per hour for a middle class family. When I babysat, I watched three little boys for $5 an hour (and occasionally more), which was better money than a lot of my friends made. Don't be too demanding or the parents will find someone else. If you take good care of the kids and ask for a reasonable amount, they're more likely to keep you on long-term.

I babysit for children and I think It matters how old the person babysitting is. Like if they were 13-15 the usual is 5$ an hour, but not for each child. If they are older they probably expect to be paid more.

At the very least, minimum wage, adding an exta dollar or two per child for more than one child. My daughter gets babysitting jobs and they usually just pay her what they feel is good. No one has given her less than minimum wage ($7.65) and some have given her $ 20 an hour- but this is usually for more than one child.

Well I usually charge 10.00/hour. Since its only for one an hour though, you may want to talk to your baby sitter about how much he/she feels is appropriate for just an hour of service. I would say nothing over 25.00. Its just an hour.

I think 10 dollars is reasonable. If the child or children are really bad maybe you should charge 20 or even 30.

It depends on how many kids you're sitting for. I would charge like $3-$5 per kid depending on how well-off the family is. :)
