It took me a bit of time to work out where you where 'coming from' but now I know from your profile.
So my honest answer is I have never been a lover of 'New Labour' I never saw anything wrong with 'Old Labour', or socialists, yes socialists!! that's not a rude word!
British politics to my mind has always been quite simple, we have 3 main political parties Labour these are financed mainly from the trade union movement, and their aim is to look after the common workers of society (like me)
Then we have Conservative this group is mainly financed by the Confederation of British Industry these are the people who employ us common workers, so Conservatives are here to look after the employers, help them make more profit, (not so they can keep us employed)
We are then left with the Liberals, I haven't quite sussed out what their function is or who gives them money, except they try to get child killers released from jail, and hug a few trees.
So regardless of who the Labour party leader is, I am for them.
The best moment of my life was when I saw Maggie leaving number 10 in tears what a supercilious *****, I still have the tape , I treasure it and play it whenever I'm down!
I recall Maggie once said:-
"The people must learn. if they dont have any pennies in their purses, they cant buy sweeties"!!!
Some thing along the lines of "The people have no bread? tell them to buy cakes"
If you think for one minute your new guy has any chance in the next election, think again your toffee nosed lot dont have a brain cell between them, want to bet this new guy will be ousted long before the eletion?? That should do the trick tos*ers< the lot of them.
Hope this helps? its helped me a bit!

Me, even before he got elected. I only voted for the bugger once, because I heard him say how Thatcher influenced him. That was more than a little worrying.

I still like him although I think it's right for him to step down for the good of the party, not necessarily for the country
