is it normal to have cramps while only 1 month pregnant? I have a really sharp pain on the right side of my lower abdomen.... i've had my appendix taken out. Could something be wrong with the baby? this pain makes me feel lightheaded like i'm gonna pass out. Is this normal?

All pains should be checked by the doctor, if it's your first pregnancy it could be the streched tendons on the uterus.

Cramping is usually cause by the egg implanting in the womb. The pain in the right side is probably the ligaments of the uterus stretching, and can be a stabbing pain at times and can be more noticible during the first pregnancy. Either way, Call your Doc and bring up these issues with your OB. A good OB will not care how often you call with questions, no matter how minor or major. She/He may decide to do an ultrasound to be sure that the egg implanting in the womb and not your fallopian tubes, and will also look to rule out cysts(which are more likely to occur during ovulation, but can sometimes appear during pregnancy)

No it is not normal to feel like you are about to pass out from abdominal pain. I had cramping but it never made me feel lightheaded at all. You need to see the doctor, heavy cramping and/or spotting or bleeding is a sign of miscarriage. Lay down and rest and drink lots of water.

I had the same type of pain in the first couple of months, Your uterus is making room for a baby, If you are really concerned you should call your Dr. If this is your first pregnancy you will have all kinds of weird and new feelings. But don't be afraid of calling your Dr whenever you have a question or fear. That's what they are there for.

Cramping in pregnancy can be quite normal whilst implantation is taking place, growth of the baby.
If you are concerned speak to your midwife or doctor who will be able to do the relevant check and advised you accordingly.
Good luck wth the pregnancy!

It can be an ovarian cyst rupturing (which is normal), sign of an etopic pregnancy (if the pain is horibbe & you are experiencing bleeding), or the uterus expending (more than likely the correct answer).

yes, it is normal. What is happening is that your round ligaments are streching to accomidate the baby. The only thing that you should be wary of is if you start to bleed, and even then, that is sometimes normal.

you could just have a cyst (i have one in my right ovary) but you should definately talk to the doctor. they'll want to do an ultrasound to check that everything is okay... good luck.
