Its really difficult to negotiate with extremists , unless there is a change in policy , i'd say that its impossible too.

The basic premise to negotiation is that both sides are willing to compromise and stick to what they promised. Without this how can there be negotiation.

Extremists have the freedom to literally break every rule in the book if they feel like it , when they feel like it. While in the case of the government, every other nation will blast its honor and its word if it breaks its agreement.

The other problem is that the extremists are not willing to compromise to find a amiable solution to both sides . With extremist groups like Hamas sprouting rhetoric about wiping Isreal off the map, obviously, Israel cannot agree to such a thing

Historically , the middle east has been a big mess of conflict , i don't think there will ever be peace in the middle east unless they get together and sort out their sectarian differences.

Once they killed 3000 people on 9/11, all negotiation went out the window. If the USA begins negotiations, I will throw up with disgust. These people killed innocent mothers and fathers. Those people had nothing to do with politics. And they dont care, they consider it a victory to ruin people's lives. There will not, and should never, be any negotiations. The only negotiation they should be making is whether or not they get top bunk or bottom bunk at Gitmo, and which flavour of lethal injection to use

Were we in Iraq before 9/11?
You are brilliant.
You don't have to negotiate with Al Qaeda. Just surrender like the Democrats did.

You can't negotiate with those people just get out and let them kill each other. If they come here the next step would be to retialate in a way that they won't do it again. Not by some guys that are so out numbered that it is a joke or a sucide mission.

That is such a naive idea. You cannot negotiate with people who would just as soon decapitate you as look at you. These type of people will agree to whatever you ask, and then stab you in the back as soon as you turn around. Very weak.

You cannot negotiate with someone who doesn't think straight, it just doesn't work.

The same way that you negotiate with a dangerous snake. You cut off their damn heads! They all must die as they are a world threat and want to dominate us all with their fanatical religion.

in the experience that they formed a non extremist crew they could ought to call it something new, because the Muslim faith IS violence. What they ought to do is convert to Christianity, we do not bomb stuff.
