I own a vintage Gibson Dove acoustic, Ovation Celebrity acoustic/electric. I also have an Ibanez PF200 w/ Bill Lawrence pickups and a G&L S500 electrics. To answer your question, what do you want to do with the guitar???? What sound do you want??? Each one of mine gives me something completely different. Each one has a place and time.

The Acoustic sounds the best but the electric guitar was easier to learn how to play.

I prefer electric. You can still get clean tones on an electric guitar with a good amp. Plus, you can do so much more with an eletric guitar than an acoustic because you can play single string.

I think it all depends on the music you are playing and what kind of sound you are looking for. I like both but, there are some songs I love on the acoustic and not the electric and so on.

I think it depends on the mood and type of song your playing. So I would say both.
