We bought some ram yesterday. Took out the old chip, and replaced it, plugged the computer back in, and it doesnt work. We bought the right thing, cuz we checked and double checked. Weve tried everything, nothing makes it work. Its a Gateway. Is there something we arnt doing, that we should?

OK Does the computer work with the old RAM stick in? On the RAM slot, have you made sure the chip is pressed in firmly and that the 2 clips on the end have locked on? If yes, have you put it in the right way round? (usually impossible to do but hey, been there myself before lol). If you have more than one slot, try putting in both RAM sticks together and on the power up does computer count up the memory test and has it increased?
