i'm surpised that so far nobody has mentioned westlife. they are arguably one of the worst culprits

Before I opened the question I honestly thought Westlife! Their songs are the same over and over again. I moved out of the UK for six years, but came back in October for a visit. Westlife aren't popular in Canada, and in the time I've been here, I've heard one song. It sounded just like the stuff they released in 2000. And what I heard from them in October, it's still the same! There's absolute no growth in them. :)

Michelle Branch because her lyrics are all cliche and trite (example, see "are you happy now"), and she has tons of money from her 12 year old female fans, so she can afford to work with the top producers which put her back at the top of the charts time and time again, thus resulting in a neverending cycle of mediocre music.
