My boyfriend's new Nissan Maxima has several displays near the odometer/speedometer. One of them says "DTE: 350 (currently, but it increases and decreases)". What is the DTE?

It stands for Distance to Empty, and displays the number of miles you can drive before you are out of fuel.

DTE = Determined to Empty so if it says 350 that means he has 350 miles until his gas tank is completely empty. But be careful because its not 100% accurate

According to Wikipedia, the name "DTE" is taken from the stock symbol for Detroit Edison, DTE. Sorry, that's all I could find.
